'St. Charles Parish'

My name is Shirley Lamerand and I am the Business Manager at St. Charles.  I began working at the parish on June 1, 1999.  My responsibilities include working with the Building & Grounds Committee and the Finance & Administrative Services Committee which report to the Parish Council.  It is our responsibility to make sure that our facilities are properly maintained while keeping a balanced budget.

Before coming to St. Charles I was an office manager at a local plumbing & heating distributor for 12 years.  This experience, as well as working at Swallow School as a bookkeeper and secretary for 6 years, gave me a solid foundation for the work I am now doing.  I enjoy the people I work with at the parish and the parishioners I come in contact with every day.

My husband, David, and I joined the parish in 1978 when we moved to Hartland from Milwaukee.  Our two children, Amy and Scott, were only 8 and 7 years old when we arrived.  They now are both married and have families of their own.  We have been blessed with 4 grandchildren, Ben, Katie, Alex and Ryan.  One of our favorite pastimes is taking care of them and seeing them grow up before our eyes.

As a parishioner of St. Charles, I have enjoyed being a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Grief Support Ministry, Thursday Night Scripture Group, and working as a coordinator of the annual Women’s Retreat.  I have met so many wonderful people by joining these groups.  I feel very enriched and strengthened by them all.
