SIXTH GRADERS use two magazine format courses published by St. Mary's Press. In Exploring the Bible they learn what the Bible is, where it came from, how to use it, and how it can relate to their own life. In Exploring the Story of Israel they learn the story of the people of Israel as recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) and the major themes of these Scriptures. The magazine style courses support active learning with strategies that engage young people in conversation with their teachers and peers.
